Disco Inferno - April 2007
Back in October 2006, some 200 young people aged 11-22 auditioned to be part of the Disco Inferno experience. For 5 months, the successful 80 worked incredibly hard rehearsing their song and dance routines and produced another stunning theatrical experience. With a spectacular set including the famous Saturday Night Fever light up dance floor, 600 costumes and a 10 piece band, this show combined a hilarious script, fantastic characters and a score of hits from the 1970s.
This show was a real team effort and I would like to express my thanks to all those volunteers who have worked so hard in the background to help create the feel of the 70. My biggest thank-you has got to go to the cast, who from the first rehearsal, showed real enthusiasm and energy, and have been a real pleasure to work with. This production of Disco Inferno took everyone back to the unforgettable era of glitter, flares and platform shoes and its high energy was guaranteed to warm the heart and get feet tapping.
