A White Chapel Tale - January 2006
There are thousands of conspiracy theories these days, but this has to be one of the most captivating and intriguing. Set in Victorian London, it tells a story of love, blackmail and probably the most infamous murders of our time. Using one of the most fascinating theories about “Jack the Ripper”, the writers have based many of their colourful characters on real people who tell us the story almost entirely through memorable songs and lively dance routines.
Simon Pergande and Mike Lewis are local songwriters, who have been working together for 14 years. This is their first full length musical.
The show was performed for the first time ever on the 18-21 January 2006 at the Performing Arts Centre, Hinchingbrooke Park Rd, Huntingdon. With a cast of 50 extremely talented and enthusiastic young people, backed by a very creative production team, the show was a huge success. The feedback from our audiences was amazing and especially welcome were the wonderful comments from regular theatre goers who were not related to any of the cast or crew!!
The performing rights to A Whitechapel Tale are now available through Spotlight Productions. We adopt a very flexible approach and so can supply anything, from just the licence, libretto and music - through to everything you need to perform the whole show, including sets, props and costumes. Our rates are very reasonable because being a non-profit making group ourselves, we understand the difficulties involved with putting on quality shows on a tight budget. So please contact us for more information or just an informal chat.
